My Lawyer - said U cannot have 2 485s for same person
My Wife's lawyer - U can have 2 485s, but it is not recommended...due to reasons mentioend by Pappu (USCIS confuses etc etc)
I think I will follow pappu's advise here
My situation
My EB2 PD Nov 2005 , 140 approved
Wife's EB2 PD Aug 2006 - 140 pending
I will apply my 485 w/ wife as dependent as first filing
Get A#'s from first filing ...and if and when opportunity comes (Dates are current)
File from my wife's Co. with me as dependent (second filing). ( I may decide against doing that if I get EADs in a timely manner from first filing)

If you want to change the employer with in 180 days of filing 485 - there is a risk involved. If your 485 approved with in the 180 days then you will get in to trouble. If your 485 is pending more than 180 days - irrespective of when you changed employer before 180 days over or after 180 days over are does not matter - and you will be safe.
If you change your employer with in 180 days - then you have to pray to the GOD for not getting approval with in 180 days of filing.
I think it answers lot of lenghty questions either one way or the other.
I have been in Murthy - Phone conference and she given the above answer to the question.

guys, i am now in UK and it's night time but trying to call as many as possible.
also asked friends & family (in US) to start calling.
can someone PLEASE start a email campaign (Yes, a chain letter) to at least the DESI community.
This is a great chance for a BIG step forward and many of you have worked VERY hard (which has motivated me also, else i had lost hope).

Every 485 applicant needs to submit birth certificate. If in regional language then get it translated in english. I dont know any place/person for translation, but you would need to submit english version.
Do we need the Birth Certificate for secondary applicants(spouse).
None of the checklist(Employer based I-485) I have been thru say that I need the secondary applicants Birth certificate.
My spouses Birth certificate is in a regional language, and hence the question.

Fill it with both primary and derivative details. Write in small font with a pen. This will avoid different forms for each applicant.
If you take 1st line you want to write two names in it, that would create a confusion.
If I fill up another applicaiton for derivative, I have to fill up the same way as I filled for myself right? then I will go for this option.

Yes, this is just one account and am happy for you that you got lucky. I too went to New Delhi Embassy and have been stuck since Jan 7th.
I have been in the US for almost 10 years and with the same employer for the last 7+ years. This was 11+ year H1B extension and I am stuck since Jan. 7th. I was told Additional Administrative Processing - and have not heard zilch back from the embassy yet. Law-firm has written to the embassy and reaching out to the DoS. I have been calling DoS every week religiously only to hear that "AAP is in progress and you will have to wait it out". Separated from family, living out here on my own - thankfully I work for a global company but working all-nighters will eventually get to me.
Having said that, it is a matter of chance for everyone. Just be careful and plan accordingly. If you can avoid it, travel using an AP.

Went in at 9:00 and out by 10:00. Received stamped PP next day.
All docs OK. No job change after H1 transfer 3 years ago
All those going for H1 stamp do NOT worry. Not sure how one gets PIMS but this is just my account

i dont think the country makes a big difference, i have two friends stuck in name check (one was born in canada with an english first and last name). i think its the combination of the name, DOB and a crappy system

Looks like this year USCIS understood they need some money and accept some extra applications, which may be the same file I485 when PD is not current. and date might go to end of 2007.

Upto GC, it is fine to do any movement/lead..perfectly acceptable.
But do not waste energy and aggressivness on citizenship related things. It rather damages the effort, just by adding citizenship related things.
It is as equal as what happened in the past, that adding illegal and legal based reform in teh single capsule blowed out everything and no benefit came out finally.
