This discussion scared me now.
I came in US on 06/03/2001. When I came I was told, no project for me right now and I have to wait. I waited till 09/11/2001 WITHOUT pay.
The first time I was on my company payroll was in 09/11/2001. Since then as of today I am working continously.
AM I IN PROBLEM?
Please comment and give me hope.

A freind of mine came across a gentleman, who is here on work visa and he is facing a unique problem. He is married to two persons and wants to bring his whole family here in the USA. He was looking for answer if he can get both his spouses and kids here on H4 visas. Currently both of them and his kids are in India. Interesting hmmm :D

My husband & me are flying from Seattle to DC. We have also signed up for volunteering on Sunday & Lobby Day on Monday.Look forward to seeing everyone in DC.

I would like to know How to file a complaint about labor fraud? I just found out that my employer didn't file 485 for me and instead he used the labor for someone else. Is there anyway I can file a complaint? I have no other option except to wait until the dates are current again. I paid all the expenses for labor, 140 and 485.

.. and how exactly do you know that I didn't participate? did you just look in to your crystal ball and it magically gave you a list of people who didn't call their lawmaker? I may not have posted any update in that thread but I did call my 2 senators.
If you think that I have to give you a daily update in writing on what I am doing everyday to support IV, you are up for a surprise because that isn't happening. Before you criticize others, at least think.
By the way, you don't own IV or this forum so please don't act like everyone needs your permission before posting anything on this forum.
All I am saying is that if there is a good reason to close a thread, just say so. Just give a one liner explanation and everyone is happy but I am not sure if that's too difficult for you understand.
You did not even take part in the call the lawmakers drive. Likewise others complaining on this thread also do not have a single post in calling the lawmakers thread. You can happily do your predctions on your own websites, but on this websites you should allow people to seriously do focussed IV work.

1. Prove that the requirement for 3 year diploma, was 10+2+1
2. Get a very detailed credit by credit evaluation of all the courses you did compared to a US bachelors. I have seen that in many schools in India, just by a 3 year diploma we complete all the credits for a US bachelors (some times even US Masters :) ). Exact credit hours, course description etc may be required in official form.

It is true that by law employer is supposed to pay all the labor related costs. Not only that you are not supposed to be engaged in any way shape or form in this whole process.
Thanks for the info. But is it really true that by law employer is required to pay for labor ? I think it used to be that only h1b expenses are required to be paid by employer.
Also, most companies ask for agreements to repay them if we dont stay with them for few years for filing greencard . Is these agreements legal if they ask to repay labor fees ?

I doubt this law will cause any trouble. For analogy, there are laws around carrying current insurance papers. Once I didnt have my current insurance, since every six months new ones get mailed and I forgot to keep them in the car. I showed the police officer my previous expired insurance and mentioned that the insurance-id is the same. He accepted it and asked me to carry the current copy in future.

my case is quite funny.
Applications went to texas service center originally.
From there they were transferred to California where they issued my EAD and AP but transferred the application back to TEXAS.
Oddly enough the only thing that i initially got in the mail was a transfer notice and the ead cards. I didn't get the receipt notice, the AP or a FP notice?????/
Any Idea whether anyone got ead without FP?
Same with my case too. Got receipt notice only for my 485, No RN for EAD/AP and none for my wife. but received the transfer notice from CSC, case transfered to TSC and also received EADs.
Check with your attorney, they might have the receipt notices. In my case, they did have them. Also AP shows as approved, not received it yet and no updates on FP yet. Hopefuly will get soon.

The discussion seems to be focused on getting a certification to add to your resume. I am a PMP too, have delivered several small projects.
I think whether you are a PM or a developer, PMP is a good step to understanding and appreciating the business value of what you are doing as a techie.
It is not just a certification but a way of thinking.
It applies to everything in your life not just your work......
Treating it like a commodity isn't the best way to look at it.

Yes, don't worry guys. Once I-140 is approved, most of employment and job related stuff is over.
I-485 is mainly for status change stage to check criminal background (not job related :) ), FP and name check. They won't check much on job.
It is all straight forward and only a time consuming stage. Thats all. Enjoy the AOS pending stage.
This is confusing..I have a similar situation(not paid for 2 weeks)..
When i talked to my lawyer she said that employement verification is done in I-140 and since that is approved I dont need to worry abt it for 485??

I wanted to find about pre approved or pre adjudicated case, We have been hearing the same more often in the forum, so out of curiosity i opened a Service Request.
I kind of have a good relation ship with the former employer, worked with them for 4 years. I just called my company HR and he said he does not know my name is on withdrawn list but he will check the list and let me know tomorrow.

The officer in the local USCIS office will be able to give more details about your case.
